My favourite music artist:

Eminem is my favourite music artist, the reason I like him the most is he makes very fast songs and he makes dis tracks witch are songs dissing other singers/rappers, I also like other singers such as Megan Thee Stalion, Cardi B, Onefour, Arizona Zervas and Lil Dicky.

Why am I into a lot of rap music:

I like a lot of rap music because when I lived with dad ever since I was little he would play a lot of Eminem and other rap music, Im pretty sure Eminem is Dad's favourite singer too.

Facts about Eminem:

1. As a 9 - year old, Eminem spent a week in a coma after being thrashed by a bully.

2. Before Eminem discovered his talent, he wanted to be a comic book artist.

3. Eminem is a workaholic and has been labelled a perfectionist by other musicians.

8 Mile is a movie directed by Curtis Hanson, the star is Eminem/Marshall Mathers the film which contains autobiographical elements from Eminem's life, follows white rapper B-Rabbit (Eminem) and his attempt to launch a career in hip hop. The title of the movie is derived from 8 Mile Road. 8 Mile was a critical and box office success. It opened at Number one in the US. 8 Mile road is the highway that devides the black area of Detroit and a large white suburban area of the city. 

2021 Bcats Saw Horse

Manufacture of a Sawhorse using Hand tools  for my Building Construction  Industry Trades Organization qualification.

In term 1 2021 I learnt how to use hand tools to manufacture a Saw Horse to a specific size from a set of drawings . This took about 6 weeks (24 hrs) I will explain how to make a saw horse in this blog post

Here is my finished project.

This project was made by using hand tools only. No powered tools were used apart from a battery powered drill to drill the holes for the screws.

I enjoyed cutting the legs the most.

I found fitting the legs the most difficult part. I overcame this by trying different ways of getting the right measurements.

To make a saw horse I carried out the following processes.

The first step was to mark out the top of the saw horse using a sliding bevel.

My second step was to cut out the joints using a saw and a chisel.

My third step was to hand saw the leg ends.

My fourth step was to mark and plan the legs.

My fifth step was to fix the legs to the saw horse top.

My sixth step was to attach the end piece and support.

What did I enjoy the most?

These art designs are put in a storyline, where the order goes earliest to latest, it starts off as a simple old drawing then goes to a really neat painting, I think it looks good this way as there is an. order to the storyline, The storyline fits in this order because it goes from least colorful to more colorful, the colors are Red, Yellow, White, Blue, bits of Green, a few bits of Orange here and there and last but not least Pink, the last picture has the most Red in it, the fourth one is pretty basic, it has just pencil on paper.

The image above is my Beyond Artist Model Investigation, We first had to choose 6 artists for artist study then 10 artworks for cultural contrast then we just had to do 23 artworks, this is also where we chose our kaupapa as well as our theme after we chose our theme we then wrote our why on it, which then became our kaupapa.

Beyond Artist Model Investigation - MARSHALL .C.

For the start of Term 1 in art 2020 level one has been working on Mood Boards.

For my mood board, I used for my first six artworks I chose the artists, Sofia Minson and Robyn Kahukiwa. Why did I chose, Sofia Minson and Robyn Kahukiwa, I chose them because when I saw their artwork I knew that I liked it straight away.

My Theme Is Cultural:
and I chose it because Maori designs really inspire me to draw them,  but I've never been able to draw them myself...

Blurb about the design process:

--->  Who was your profile target?
My profile target was my dad.
 I was aiming for someone like my dad who stands on his feet all day at work.

---> My recipe decision was for men in their, I think 20s, 30s, and 40s.

My Recipe:

• Cornmeal Chocolate Fennel Seed Cookies

• 90c
• 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
• 1 cup sugar
• cinnamon
• ^
• 1 tablespoon fennel seeds, toasted and finely ground
• 1 egg
• 1 cup flour
• 2/3 cup fine grind yellow cornmeal
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together butter with sugar. Mix in the egg. Add the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and fennel seeds on medium speed until just combined. Stir in chocolate chunks.
2. Spoon heaping tablespoons of the dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for about 15 minutes, rotating once halfway through. The edges should be golden.

Beware that this is an American Recipe!!!

This recipe was chosen because I thought it could give someone enough energy to stand on their feet all day, But it turned out a little bit too salty because we mucked up the recipe and put far too much salt in, And instead of the fennel seeds Harley & I used cinnamon.


How does it fit into the dinner plate model?

Well, actually I don't think it does because of the too much salt I added, Otherwise it would have had a lot of energy in it to keep you going.

What changes did you make during the two practice practical lessons?

Well, As It shows above I swapped the fennel seeds with cinnamon instead.

Why did you make these changes?

Because I've never tried fennel seeds before.

What were the positives about your final practical?

Well, The cookies tasted nice except for the salt in them.

Describe two things you have learned this semester.

1. I learned how to bake cookies.
2. I learned to be patient while cooking.

Turning copper into silver then gold

Aim: To turn copper into silver then gold.


Equipment: Bunsen burner, Safety glasses, zinc powder, NaOH solution, Beaker, Tripod, Gauge mat, Heat mat, Scissor tongs, And a copper coin.

 
Method: Pour 20 mL of NaOH solution to the beaker then add the zinc dust in the dish with the NaOH, and gently swirl the mixture together, Set up tripod and bunsen burner + gauge mat, Turn on bunsen burner and put under the tripod, set bunsen burner to a blue flame,Heat for 5 minutes. Do not boil. When the Beaker is hot is hot, place a penny in it. Heat for two minutes or until the penny is coated and becomes silver in appearance, Remove the penny from the dish with tongs and drop it into water. When cool, wipe the penny clean with a cloth to remove any excess zinc, Using tongs, hold the penny in the flame of a Bunsen burner and gently heat. The penny should turn “gold” (brass). (Do not overheat the penny.), Dip the penny in the beaker of water until it is cool to the touch.

I mean I am but in the 1850 version. I live in England.

In this Story, I am Ten yrs old. I am a Chimney Sweeper and Entertainer.

January 1st 1850

Hi diary

As I was walking down the road and suddenly all I see is darkness as the lights go out and all these new colourful lights come on. The ones I could see were red yellow green & blue.

I then got told by my friend Henry that it was an ad and that they added these lights to tell us there is an ad on its way. So I looked down at my old rigid television and an ad came on even before I turned my television on… The ad started and I saw that there was a new thing called boat on the screen they were talking about a boat and The Government told everyone watching the tv they were invited to these 5 countries Jordon, Africa, America, New Zealand.  

Then I got a ticket in my mailbox. Then I picked it up & on it, it said I was going to New Zealand

I thought yay I'm going to New Zealand.

I took the ticket inside & read it and then I found out that I had paid 15 pounds for that ticket and anyways I thought oh well & went off to sleep.

But as soon as I went off to sleep I wake up again as if I was already in a dream. The thing is we never had tv’s back in the 1800s nor did we have lights it was just candles.

As soon as I woke up though I actually teleported to a boat and I thought wow how’d I do that

The thing is I didn’t do it!! So now it really got me thinking have I just woken up from a dream and magically gone back into a dream.

Yes, yes I have. OK, NOW I KNOW WHY!!! It happened because I slept with the ticket and these people really want me out of my home country. THERE ARE TOO MANY DAMN PEOPLE IN MY HOME COUNTRY!!!  Ok, so here I am pinching myself but…

I don't wake up. IM PERMANENTLY STUCK IN A DREAM!

We have now been on this boat dream for one month.

I can't wait to get off this damn boat. My destiny lies in New Zealand. The seas are rough so are the winds. My top hat blew off my head. And I have no other clothes that are warm. In fact, the clothes I am wearing aren't even warm enough. I have vomited 5 times.

It has now been 45 days and I'm still in this stupid bloody dream.

I'm stuck in my cabin because it is far too cold outside of it. I really miss the warmth of England. I must have gotten used to the sea because I have not Vomited since last time I wrote. Gotta go someone is coming to visit me.
